METROPOL Group acted as a sponsor of the concert of Japanese folk band «Kuromori Kagura» in Moscow
This was the first time when the Russian capital hosted this
famous Japanese band. Diplomatic personnel and representatives of
business and cultural elite of both states were present at the
concert that was held in Moscow drama theatre named after
K.Stanislavskiy. Among the visitors were also of officers of the
Ministry of Emergency Control that assisted in dealing with the
aftermath of earthquake in Japan.
“Kuromori Kagura” presented ritual dances of Kuromori Shinto
sanctuary located in Miyake, Iwate prefecture – the place that
suffered severe damage in the recent earthquake. In 2006 Japanese
government honored the band with the title “national patrimony in
the area of immaterial folk culture”.
In his speech after the end of the concert T.Kharada, Extraordinary
and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Japan to the Russian Federation
underlined the importance of cultural links that connect Russia and
Japan, expressed gratitude to Russians for assistance and support
in the time of the natural disaster that Japan faced in March. In
his turn O.Velikoredchanin, Head of the department of international
and regional projects of IFC METROPOL thanked the dancers for their
expertise and brilliant show in the course of which the visitors
were able to learn more about this ancient and unusual type of
dancing. He also wished the guests the quickest possible
restoration of their homeland that had suffered from the
catastrophe.
