Representatives of East-Siberian Metals Corporation, gave a presentation of a project to develop the Ozernoye field to Buryatia's leadership
On 8 February, in Ulan-Ude, the capital city of Buryatia, there took place a conference where representatives of the corporation East-Siberian Metals gave to Buryatia's president Leonid Potapov and members of the republic's government the company's report on the progress made under the licensing agreement to develop the complex deposit Ozernoye, and outlined a plan for its development in 2006. The company reported that phase one of the licensing agreement had been completed: the front end engineering design to develop the field had been produced on schedule and filed with the Gosgortekhnadzor [RF State Committee for Supervision of Safe Working Practices in Industry and for Mine Supervision] 14 December. Buryatia's leaders also discussed with the company's representatives the question of building a railway line Mogzon-Ozernoye using the resources of the RF Investment Fund. The East-Siberian Metals representatives
indicated that a bid was being prepared for the tender to build a
railway line, to be financed by the federal investment fund. An
agreement had already been reached with the government of the
Republic of Buryatia to set up a task force for the railway
project. |
