IFC METROPOL at the 5th Russian-Japanese Investment Forum
On 6-7 June 2012, representatives of Investment and Financial
Company METROPOL attended the Russian-Japanese Investment Forum in
Kazan. The Forum was held by the Russian Ministry of Economic
Development and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of
Japan.
At the round table discussion of Investment Cooperation in Banking
and Finance, Oleg Velikoredchanin, Director for International
Activities, IFC METROPOL, made a presentation on the Experience of
IFC METROPOL in Attracting Japanese Investments to the Financial
Sector of the Russian Economy.
Participants in the round table discussion were interested to hear
about joint investments in Russian securities and non-public
companies, Internet trading and creation of an online bank based on
the platform of OBIBANK jointly with SBI Holdings. The participants
were particularly interested in the progress of mining projects
being developed by METROPOL Group of Companies in the Republic of
Buryatia and the opportunity for Japanese companies to take part in
these projects.
The Russian-Japanese Investment Forum is the largest specialized
forum for communication of businessmen and public authorities of
Russia and Japan. According to the organizers, this year the Forum
was attended by over 300 participants from both countries.
