Project “Bakcharsky steel”was among 16 projects chosen by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation as the most perspective.

Company “ТomGDK – Ruda”, control stake of which belongs to the IFC “МЕТROPOL”, deals with geological survey and development of the Bakcharsky iron-ore deposit in the Tomsk region within the framework of the project «Bakcharsky steel».
Currently the Company "ТomGDK - Ruda" has started sampling of the Bakcharsky ore on the Polyansky area of the deposit. More than 100 tons of iron ore with iron content about 45% have already been mined. Experimental-industrial pilot production of the area is planned to start in 2008.
